| Bonemeal | Organic. Slow release of phosphates promoting strong root growth. Best used in the preparation of soil prior to planting at a rate of 2 to 4oz per Sq Yd. Especially beneficial for established trees and shrubs by scattering a couple of handfuls around their base as a top dressing. |
| Magnesium Sulphate | Commonly known as Epsom Salts. Can be used as a soil improver and to prevent yellowing of leaves. Rake in at 1oz per Sq Yd when preparing soil. Can also be used as a spray to correct magnesium deficiency. Spray at a rate of 1oz per gallon. Especially good as a top dressing for asparagus beds in the spring at a rate of 1oz per Sq Yd. |
| Keiserite | As Magnesium Sulphate but contains 20% Magnesium as opposed to 15%. |
| Nitrate of Chalk | High in nitrogen, best used to promote ‘Green’ growth. A handful around the base of growing brassicas will give them a boost. (Don’t use on Brussels) |
| Sulphate of Iron | Use for Ericaceous plants and shrubs. (Lime haters) Apply at the rate of 1oz per Sq Yd prior to planting, or on established beds. Can also be used at half that rate when preparing onion beds. |
| Sulphate of Potash | Quick acting. Promotes the growth of flowers and fruit. Apply to growing crops at the rate of 1 to 2oz per Sq Yd |
| Sulphate of Ammonia | Quick acting. High in nitrogen. Use on leafy vegetables when growing at a rate of 1oz per Sq Yd. Can also be used on the compost heap to aid decomposition. Add a couple of handfuls between layers |
| Superphosphate of Lime | Promotes root growth. Rake in at rate of 2 to 3oz per Sq Yd when preparing the soil for root crops and 2oz per Sq Yd when the crops are growing |
| Maxicrop General | Organic. Made from seaweed extract and can be used as a general purpose fertiliser diluted in water. Apply at a rate of 5ml per gallon in a watering can for germinating seeds, 10ml per gallon for growing on and 20ml per gallon for mature plants. Can also be used as a spray at the same rate of application. |
| Maxicrop Tomato | Organic. Similar to General but created with a higher potash content to specifically boost production of the fruits. Apply at a rate of 10ml per gallon weekly as soon as trusses are set, and increase to 20ml per gallon as fruits mature. |
| Garden Lime | Soil conditioner. Makes the soil more alkaline. Fork in at the rate of 6oz per Sq Yd. Treat areas that are subsequently to be used for Brassicas |
| Compost Maker/Garrota | Specially developed mixture to aid the decomposition of material on the Compost Heap. Apply a couple of handfuls between each layer for rich and quickly achieved homemade compost. |
| Summer Weed/Feed | A fertiliser and broadleaf weed killer developed especially for lawns. Apply two or three times between April and September at a rate of 1 to 2oz per Sq Yd. If no rain within a couple of days of application it will need to be watered in. |
| Autumn Lawn Feed | A specially formulated fertiliser for use on lawns during the Autumn. Apply during October and November at a rate of 1 to 2oz per Sq Yd. |
| Rose Fertilizer | Specially blended fertiliser to promote the growth of all types of roses. Apply at 4oz per Sq Yd prior to planting. For established beds apply at the same rate in spring and monthly in summer at half above rate |
| Green Manure Emergo Mustard | Organic. This is seed that is sown during the Spring, Summer and early Autumn. It is quick growing and should be dug in before it flowers. It will improve the soil and add essential nutrients. It blocks out weed growth and stops the soil that’s left fallow becoming compacted by rain. |
| 6X Pelleted Manure | Organic. Highly concentrated pellets made from poultry manure. |
